KATHMANDU: The Central Committee (CC) meeting of the CPN-UML has decided to take action against 25 UML leaders Monday.

The CC meeting, chaired by party Chairman and Prime Minister KP Oli, held in Baluwatar earlier decided to seek final clarification from a total of five UML leaders.

The five who ought to submit their final clarification are Madhav Kumar Nepal, Bhim Rawal, Surendra Pandey, Ghanashyam Bhusal and Prakash Jwala. The former four already face suspension of six months.

The party has provided them two days to submit their explanation, which will be the final one.

Likewise, the party also decided to seek clarification from 20 others, including three floor-crossing provincial lawmakers, who aided and abetted the Karnali ‘floor-crossing’ action going against party. All of them have been given two days to present explanation.

According to UML Chair Oli, if the five leaders fail to provide satisfactory answers this time around then the party will take further action against them in the next CC meeting which will be held on April 23.
