Former Minister Suwal passes away



KATHMANDU: Social activist and former health minister Prayag Raj Singh Suwal has passed away at his residence in Jhochhe last night. He was 93.

Suwal was among the old generation leaders who struggled for democracy being associated with the Nepali Congress.

The late Suwal had also served as the mayor of Kathmandu and a parliamentarian during the regime of Panchayat. He had also served the Paropakar Sanstha, a philanthropic organization, as the chair.

He is survived by a spouse, two sons, and a daughter.

According to the family sources, the final rites of the late Suwal will be performed in Teku Dovan today.
