PM Oli welcomes over 235 industrialists into CPN-UML

KATHMANDU: Over 235 industrialists joined the CPN-UML at a program organized at the Prime Minister’s official residence in Baluwatar Friday evening.

Industrialists affiliated with organizations such as the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) and the Confederation of Nepalese Industries (CNI), among others, attended the program.

Addressing the mass of industrialists, Prime Minister KP Oli urged them to establish new manufacturing- and export-oriented industries so that new business and job opportunities would be created in the country.

The PM also assured his full support to industrialists, which included amendment of laws if required. He went on to say that if necessary, he would also issue ordinances in order to facilitate industrialists.

In connection to ordiance, the PM also expressed outrage at the House of Representatives (HoR), where lawmakers have been obstructing the government from tabling and endorsing ordinances. He also enquired if the HoR would only keep on passing condolence motions.

The PM also said that the Maoist-led insurgency had forced millions of Nepalis to seek employment in Gulf countries. He clarified his government had not compelled millions of youths to go abroad in search of jobs and security.

“Industries had closed due to the war. Both industrialists and employees were ruined due to it,” he said. He also wondered about the situation of daily wage earners during the war.

He urged automobile industrialists to establish auto-manufacturing plants in the country, and start exporting vehicles instead of importing them. He told industrialists that they need not worry about facilities when they set up new industries. “The government will provide more than expected facilities,” he said.
