KATHMANDU: Attorney General Agni Kharel has called a press conference at his office at 1 pm today.
Although no information has been given about the topic of the press conference, sources said Attorney General Kharel is announcing his resignation.
Prime Minister KP Oli had been dissatisfied with Kharel with his debate on the issue of the dissolution of the House of Representatives (HoR) at the Supreme Court.
Kharel had argued that non-approval of the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) Compact and failure to move various bills including the bill on opening up cannabis cultivation made the government realize that the HoR did not cooperate with the government making the dissolution of HoR a must.
