Govt to support tourism and hotel sectors: Minister Poudel

KATMANDU: Minister for Finance Bishnu Poudel has said that the government would help the tourism sector, the worse hit by the COVID-19 outbreak.

Talking to representatives from hotel and tourism sectors at his Ministry today Minister Poudel said that the government would help to revive and recover the sectors.

He stressed on effective implementation of relief packages brought to revive the business sector. The government has announced relief, incentives, and subsidiary packages targeting the sectors.

Poudel argued that the government was always supportive of the entrepreneurs to revive their respective businesses.

Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Bhanubhakta Dhakal also committed to supporting the sectors. He further urged the entrepreneurs to understand the difficulty of government in the present situation.

Finance secretary Shishir Kumar Dhungana clarified that there was no confusion in the policy to revive the business sector. However, an implementation should be made effective.

Representatives from the Nepal Tourism Board, Trekking Agency Association of Nepal, Hotel Association of Nepal, Restaurant and Bar Association of Nepal among others attended the meeting.
