PAPAD expresses solidarity with lawyers against CJ Rana



KATHMANDU: The Professionals’ Alliance for Peace and Democracy (PAPAD) has expressed its solidarity with the agitation of the Nepal Bar Association, which has been staging protests demanding the resignation of Chief Justice Cholendra Shumsher Rana.

Chairman of the Nepal Bar, Chandeshwor Shrestha, informed that a meeting of the PAPAD will take place this evening.

It should be noted that PAPAD was active during the people’s uprising against the then rule of former King Gyanendra.

According to Bipul Pokhrel, President of the Federation of Nepali Journalists, a meeting of PAPAD has been called at the office of the Federation on Thursday evening.

The meeting will move forward by deciding on the ongoing agitation of the Nepal Bar.

PAPAD includes Nepal Bar, Federation of Nepali Journalists, Nepal Professors Association, Nepal Engineers Association and Nepal Medical Association.

All these organizations have already issued statements expressing concern over the ongoing agitation at the Supreme Court.
