Home Minister Khand says safeguarding constitution and citizens first priority of govt



KATHMANDU: Home Minister Bal Krishna Khand said safeguarding of the Constitution and protection of the lives and property of the people was the first and foremost responsibility of the state.

At a program organized in Bhairahawa Monday, Minister Khand, who came to his home district, Rupandehi, first time after assuming the ministerial berth said, “The primary responsibility of the state is to safeguard the Constitution and protect the lives of the people”.

At the felicitation program, Minister Khand demonstrated respect to the coalition parties and noted that NC was working with added responsibilities. The unity and cooperation from all parties could only advance the country to the path of development, Minister Khand said at the programme.

The Home Minister informed that he had already urged the Finance Minister, Vice-chairperson of National Planning Commission (NPC) and office-bearers of Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies to make the Belhiya checkpoint well-managed.
