SC decision tamed attempts to undermine dignity of HoR: Speaker Sapkota

KATHMANDU: Speaker Agni Prasad Sapkota has said that the Supreme Court (SC) decision had tamed the attempts to undermine the dignity of the House of Representatives (HoR).

Speaking at HoR meeting Sunday, he said the move against separation of powers had failed yet again. “The move against the principle of separation of powers failed once again and attempts to undermine the dignity of the House of Representatives have been restricted.”

Speaker Sapkota congratulated all parliamentarians for the restoration of the parliament. “I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to the political parties, the intelligentsia, the media, the civil society and the general public for their contribution in reinstating the sovereign rights of this HoR,” he said.

He also thanked the Supreme Court for its decision to reinstate the House of Representatives.
