Nepal sees 1,801 new coronavirus cases in last 24 hours

KATHMANDU: The country recorded a total of 1,801 new cases of coronavirus while 2,164 infected patients recovered in the past 24 hours.

Of the 1,801 cases confirmed, 1,213 were detected through RT-PCR method and 578 from antigen-method.

According to the Ministry of Health and Population, altogether 23 infected patients died of the virus infection in the past 24 hours. With the recent death toll, total deaths caused due to COVID-19 reached 9,550 in the country.

In the meantime, Kathmandu valley has seen 334 cases of coronavirus in past 24 hours. The Ministry updated that there have been 234 new cases of coronavirus in Kathmandu district whereas Lalitpur and Bhaktapur district witnessed 64 and 36 cases respectively.
