Deuba likely to take vote of confidence today

Speaker calls meeting of Business Advisory Committee

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba is likely to take a vote of confidence at the House of Representatives Sunday.

Deuba, who was appointed as the prime minister last week as per the order of the Supreme Court, is taking a vote of confidence today, according to CPN-UML leader Gokul Baskota.

Taking to Twitter on Sunday, former Communications Minister Baskota said that PM Deuba will take the vote of confidence.

He has also said that the decision to this effect was made after CPN-Maoist Center Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal “Prachanda” met UML senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal on Saturday.

A dissident faction of the UML party led by senior leader Nepal has been supporting Nepali Congress President Deuba because of which the UML is on the verge of a split.

UML Whip Shanta Chaudhary said that they have received information that a vote of confidence will be taken today.

Meanwhile, Speaker Agni Sapkota has called a meeting of the Business Advisory Committee today morning.
