UML holding Standing Committee meeting

KATHMANDU: CPN-UML Chairman KP Oli has called a meeting of the Standing Committee (SC) Sunday.

UML central office Secretary Sher Bahadur Tamang said the SC meeting will be held today.

Likewise, the party is also holding its central committee meeting on Monday at Tulsi Lal Memorial Foundation in Chyasal, Lalitpur.

The party is currently on the verge of a split as the party’s senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal faction has been adamant about its stance of giving a vote of confidence to Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba.

However, efforts have been made to make the party unity intact.

The UML had held its SC meeting and parliamentary party (PP) meeting Friday.

Leaders close to senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal had abstained from both the meetings on Friday.

The unilateral SC meeting endorsed the 10-point resolution prepared by the dispute resolution task force.
