Nepal sees 2,768 new coronavirus cases in last 24 hours

44 deaths reported across country, Kathmandu sees 508 new cases

KATHMANDU: The country recorded a total of 2,768 new cases of coronavirus while 4,020 infected patients recovered in the past 24 hours.

Of the 2,768 cases confirmed, 1,963 were detected through RT-PCR method and 805 from antigen-method.

According to the Ministry of Health and Population, altogether 44 infected patients died of the virus infection in the past 24 hours. With the recent death toll, total deaths caused due to COVID-19 reached 8,641 in the country.

There were 394 new cases in Kathmandu, 60 in Lalitpur and 54 in Bhaktapur, making the total cases in Kathmandu Valley 508.
