Only 26 percent budget spent in Karnali province



SURKHET: Twenty-six percent of the budget of Karnali Province has been spent. Out of Rs 33.74 billion of the total budget of Karnali province government of the fiscal year 2020/21, 26.91 percent budget (Rs 9.79 billion) has been spent till June 13.

Out of 14.67 billion towards the current budget, Rs 4.41 billion has been spent while out of Rs 19.06 billion towards the capital budget, Rs 4.66 billion has been spent, said Chief of Province Financial Comptroller Office, Man Bahadur Bam.

The budget was spent more by 6.66 percent in the till June 13 in the current fiscal year as compared to the correspondent period of the previous fiscal year, added Bam.

The budget expenditure of the province was only 20.25 percent till mid-June of the previous fiscal year. Of them, 29.84 percent was current expenditure while 14.37 percent as capital expenditure.

Ten billion rupees was spent in the last month of the previous fiscal year. According to the Province Financial Comptroller Office, Surkhet, an additional around Rs 11 billion might be spent in the last month of the current fiscal year.

Social Development Ministry has spent the highest percent of its budget which is 35.38 percent while the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Planning has spent the lowest percent only 3.98 percent of its budget.
