Saptakoshi Municipality Deputy Mayor Chaudhary succumbs to coronavirus



BIRATNAGAR: Deputy Mayor of Saptakoshi Municipality of Saptari, Asha Chaudhary, succumbed to coronavirus.

She died on Tuesday morning while undergoing treatment at the Birat Medical Hospital in Biratnagar.

Chaudhary’s PCR report had come positive. She was earlier admitted to a local health post after suffering from fever, flu and breathing problems some two weeks ago.

He had been undergoing treatment in the ICU for three days after her health condition deteriorated.

She was elected to the Deputy Mayor of Saptakoshi Municipality from the CPN-UML party.

Deputy Mayor Chaudhary is survived by her husband and a seven-year-old son.

With this, the Covid-19 death toll in Saptakoshi reached three, according to the District Health Office.
