PM Oli warns of seeking Speaker’s alternative if MCC not presented in HoR

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Oli has endeavored to push forward the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) in the House of Representatives (HoR).

Prime Minister Oli warned that he would be compelled to seek an alternative to Speaker Agni Sapkota if the latter did not present the MCC agreement at the House of Representatives meeting on April 20.

PM Oli’s statement comes during an all-party meeting held at his official residence in Baluwatar on Saturday.

Political leaders at the meeting agreed with Prime Minister Oli’s statement saying that it was wrong for Speaker Sapkota not to present the MCC to the Parliament for endorsement.

Prime Minister Oli had raised the issue of MCC after the agenda of COVID-19 and by-elections in the meeting.
