Doti declared as a district with full immunization and sustainability



DOTI: Doti has been declared a district with full immunization and sustainability.

Minister for Social Development of Sudurpaschim Province Krishna Raj Subedi made the announcement amid an event organized by the District Immunization Coordination Committee here on Saturday. The slogan for the campaign is ‘Our commitment for local stability and participation, assurance for fully immunization.’

On the occasion, the minister said that the provincial government has prioritized public health. “The government has released a budget of Rs 3.35 billion for health sector in the last fiscal year, 2019/20,” he said.

Female community health volunteers have been provided with incentive of Rs 10,000 each in the first year and a health insurance scheme has been launched, he said.

On the occasion, Mayor of Dipayal Silgadhi Municipality Manju Malasi urged people to be vaccinated against Covid-19.

Similarly, Ram Bahadur Eir, coordinator of the district coordinator committee and the district full immunization campaign coordinator committee, Doti, said that there had been an important role of people’s representatives of all local levels and health workers for the district having achieved this success.

Doti has been declared as fully immunized and sustainable district as all newborns and children between 15 months of age have been administered vaccinations freely provided by the government, said Uddhav Singh Thagunna, acting chief of the Health Office, Doti.
