Two women arrested for extortion

KATHMANDU: Police have arrested two women on the charge of extortion Thursday.

The arrested have been identified as Lalsari Shahi (Lalita) and Kalpana Hamal of Surkhet.

A team deployed from Metropolitan Crime Division nabbed the two women.

Police said they held the women after a report was filed against them.

The women lured men into hotel rooms and secretly captured videos of them to extort money.

As per a police complaint filed by a man residing in Koteshwor, Lalita had phoned and invited him to a Sundhara-based hotel room, where she made a video of the man.

Lalsari later sent the video to his Facebook Messenger and demanded money, again and again, police said.
