Number of taxpayers reaches 3.8 million

KATHMANDU: The total number of taxpayers taking Permanent Account Number (PAN) has reached 3.825 million.
This number was 3.337 million until July 14, 2020. It has increased by 4,88,454 from July 14 to February 21, 2021.

Out of the total taxpayers, 15, 18, 933 (39.7 percent) are taxpayers who get business permanent account number and 22,99,309 (60.1 percent) are taxpayers who have personal Permanent Account Number, according to the Ministry of Finance.

The permanent account number taken by the tax-deductible body has reached 7,704 (0.2 percent). Similarly, the number of taxpayers registered for value-added tax has reached 278,624 and the number of taxpayers registered for excise duty has reached 177,845, according to data released by the Ministry of Finance.
