Nepali Congress holding CWC meeting today as well

KATHMANDU: A Central Working Committee (CWC) meeting of the main opposition Nepali Congress (NC) will resume on Thursday.

Party’s Chief Secretary Krishna Prasad Poudel said that the meeting will be held at the Sanepa-based party headquarters from 3 pm onwards.

The party that has proposed a new schedule for the 14th General Convention from Wednesday’s meeting is discussing the agitation against the dissolution of the Parliament in today’s meeting.

The idea of holding the general convention from August 23 to 26 was proposed at yesterday’s meeting.

Senior leader Ram Chandra Poudel had said that the general convention should be held in May.

However, the decision to propose the general convention was made following an agreement between party senior leader Poudel and NC President Sher Bahadur Deuba.

The party’s general convention will be held on the proposed date if the NC central committee endorses it.
