2 killed, 3 injured in ambulance-auto rickshaw collision



DAMAK: Two people have died in an ambulance-auto rickshaw collision in Damak municipality of Jhapa district on Monday morning.

According to District Traffic Police Office, Jhapa, auto rickshaw driver Birendra Budhathoki, 50, of Urlabari municipality-4, Morang and a passenger Ramesh Shrestha of Jhapa, who was travelling in it, died on the spot at 9:45 am.

The accident took place when an ambulance, Me 1 Cha 1246, heading to west, ferrying a post-partum woman, collided head-on with an auto-rickshaw coming  from the opposite direction at Tarabari road section along the East-West Highway.

Other tree people sustained injuries in the accident.  Police said they are investigating the case.
