Four houses burnt down in Saptari fire



SAPTARI: Four houses were reduced to cinders in a fire at Sakardahi village in Hanumannagar Kankalini Municipality in the district this morning, gutting properties worth approximately Rs 2 million, said the police.

The blaze caught an animal shed of local resident Jagan Sutihar before extinguishing houses in the neighbourhood.

The destroyed houses belonged to locals Narayan Sutihar, Durgananda Sutihar and Sumit Magardaita, said ward chair of the municipality-2 Santosh Goit Yadav.

Food grains, clothes, utensils and other materials were burnt down in the fire.

A team of Armed Police Force and Nepal Police and local people doused the inferno with the help of a fire engine.
