KATHMANDU: The Pradesh 2 government has given a public holiday on Monday.
The public holiday has been given in commemoration of those who died in the course of the Madhesh movement.
The Madhesh Movement had escalated after Ramesh Mahato, probably the first martyr of the movement, died on January 19, 2007.
As many as 103 people had lost their lives in the Madesh uprisings held in 2063, 2064 and 2072 BS.
