University an identity marker of province: CM Pokharel

POKHARA: Chief Minister of Gandaki Province, Krishna Chandra Pokharel Nepali has said the Gandaki University should optimally utilize its resources and means and work to establish distinct identity in the educational arena.

Unveiling a conference proceeding – a collection of working papers of international seminar amidst a programme in Pokhara on Tuesday, he expressed his confidence that the University that was established after several rigorous dialogues should unleash the identity of the province.

The University should advance its functions in a technical, practical and realistic manner, he said, urging the authorities concerned to pay attention towards producing human resource capable to compete in the global market.

On the occasion, minister without portfolio of the Gandaki Province, Dobate Biswokarma urged the University to allocate reserve quota for the disadvantaged, Dalit and backward community people to support their pursuit of education.

Chancellor of the University, Prof Dr Ganeshman Gurung shared that the University has launched teaching and learning in ‘Bachelor’s in Sports Management’, ‘Bachelor’s in Information Technology’ and Bachelor’s in Pharmacy’ during short time of its establishment.
