Nepal-India joint military exercise resuming from Sept 20

KATHMANDU: The Nepal Army (NA) is resuming a joint military exercise that has been suspended for nearly one and a half years due to COVID-19.

The Nepal-India 15th ‘Suryakiran’ join military exercise, which is scheduled to be held in Pithoragarh, India from September 20 to October 3, is about to resume.

The military has been conducting exercises with India for decades with the aim of enhancing military contacts and exchanging skills and arts of warfare.

Army Spokesperson and Assistant Rathi Santosh Ballabh Poudel informed that the military exercises, training, seminars and other activities that were halted due to COVID-19 are now resuming soon.

He informed that the Nepali team would reach Pithoragarh on September 18 for a joint military exercise with India.

Nepal has been conducting Nepal-India ‘Suryakiran’ joint military exercise with India since 2011.
