Prohibitory order in Siraha extended by one month

KATHMANDU: Prohibitory order has been extended by one more month in the Siraha district.

A meeting of the District COVID-19 Crisis Management Centre decided to extend the prohibitory order till September 16, citing there is still a risk of coronavirus in the district.

Chief District Officer, Pradeep Raj Kandel, though the prohibitory was imposed till August 16, it has now been extended by one more month.

A decision has been taken to allow open shops related to groceries, vegetables, fruits, other goods except for saloons and hotels from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm during prohibitory orders by following health safety protocols.

Meanwhile, the District Administration Office, Surkhet has decided to extend the ongoing prohibitory order till Aug 23 midnight due to the growing risk of COVID-19 in the district.

Chief District Officer, Chhabilal Rijal said that essential services and supplies will continue during the prohibitory order while vegetables and fruits shops will remain open from 6 am to 7 pm.

Food shops will remain open from 8 am to 7 pm. The service providers and the service-seekers should comply with the health safety protocols put in place to prevent infection.

Service-sectors such as hotels and restaurants are allowed to run but they should only cater to only 50 percent of their seat capacity.

The same rule is applied to social traditions and customs such as religious functions and marriage among others.

Those flouting the prohibitory order shall be brought to book, added CDO Rijal.
