KATHMANDU: Second rung leaders of the CPN-UML have intensified meetings to keep the party united.

Currently, UML leaders are holding a meeting at the UML Parliamentary Party (PP) Office in Singha Durbar.

According to sources, most of the leaders who were in the dissolved UML task-force are attending the meeting.

Leaders Subas Nembang, Bhim Rawal, Surendra Pandey, Bishnu Paudel, Ghanashyam Bhusal, Raghuji Pant, Gokarna Bista, Pradeep Gyawali, Bishnu Rijal and Shankar Pokharel were in the taskforce.

UML secretary trio Prithvi Subba Gurung, Yogesh Bhattarai and Bhim Acharya are also participating in the meeting, said sources.

A Standing Committee (SC) meeting on Friday had dissolved the taskforce after endorsing its 10-point agreement.

Nepal-Khanal faction has been saying that the SC meeting’s decision to dissolve the task-force has posed problem to the implementation of the deal.

The UML has been headed towards split after Party Chairman KP Sharma Oli said that there is no place in the party for senior leader Madhav Nepal.
