Elections will be held during COVID-19 pandemic, claims PM Oli

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has claimed that the mid-term elections will be held during the COVID-19 pandemic.

In a written response sent to the Supreme Court, Prime Minister Oli has made such a claim.

“The election will be held during the COVID-19 pandemic by adopting proper health precautions,” Prime Minister Oli has said in the 18-point written response.

Oli in the response has also mentioned that the National Assembly (NA) elections were successfully conducted by adopting proper health protocols.

“The government has left no stone unturned to arrange COVID-19 vaccines for the inoculation of the Nepali people. The procurement process has been initiated to procure other necessary vaccines to inoculate all the citizens,” Oli said in the written response.

Prime Minister KP Oli has sent a written response to the Supreme Court defending his decision to dissolve the House of Representatives.

The Supreme Court had asked the Prime Minister and the President’s Office to furnish a written response within seven days as to why the government dissolved the House.
