Govt to procure 1 mln doses of Vero Cell from China within two weeks



KATHMANDU: The government is making preparations to bring one million doses of COVID-19 vaccines from China.

CCMC Director Balananda Sharma said preparations are underway to procure one million COVID-19 vaccines from Sinopharm Comapany by June since the China government has agreed in principle to provide vaccines.

Earlier, China had donated 1.8 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines.

“The agreement had been reached between Nepal and China to bring four million COVID-19 vaccines,” said Sharma, adding, “500,000 doses of vaccines will be brought each week.”

The vaccines will be administered to the people of the remaining age groups.
