New govt formation process is on, Karnali fate might recur elsewhere: Prachanda

KATHMANDU: CPN Maoist Center Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ said that the process of forming new government has already been intensified and the Karnali incident might recur in other places, including in the federal government itself.

Speaking at a program organized by the teachers’ union close to CPN-Maoist Center in Kathmandu Saturday, Maoist Center Chairman indicated that the strategy of Karnali province might be adopted for the federal government as well.

“We are actively working on new government formation, the results will be visible soon,” Chairman Prachanda said, adding, “We all know how the Karnali issue ended.”

Prachanda and UML leader Madhav Kumar Nepal had a discussion for about an hour Saturday morning.

Both Prachanda and Nepal were absent in the all-party meeting convened by Prime Minister KP Oli this morning.

In Karnali, the post of Chief Minister Mahendra Bahadur Shahi was secured when four UML lawmakers crossed the floor violating the party’s whip.
