IPL 2021: Chennai defeats Punjab by six wickets



KATHMANDU:  Chennai Super Kinngs has defeated Punjab Kings by six wickets in the eight match held under the Indian Premier League  (IPL) in Mumbai on Friday.

Invited to bat first after losing the toss, Punjab notched up 106 runs losing eight wickets in the allotted 20 overs.

Shahrukh Khan top-scored with 47 runs followed by Jhye Richardson with 15. Similarly, Deepak Hooda made 10 runs and Chris Gayle contributed 10 runs. The other batsmen could not achieve double-digit runs.

In reply, Chennai’s Deepak Chahar took highest four wickets while Sam Curran, Moeen Ali and Dwayne Bravo grabbed one wicket each of Punjab.

Chasing the 107-run target set by Punjab, Chennai’s Moeen Ali took highest 46 runs followed by Faf du Plessis with 36 runs while the other batsmen could reach double-digit runs.

In reply, Punjab’s Mohammed Shami took two wickets and Arshdeep Singh and Murugan Ashwin took one wicket each of Chennai.
