PM Oli’s arrogance led to crisis: Jhalanath Khanal

KATHMANDU: CPN-UML senior leader Jhalanath Khanal has alleged Prime Minister KP Oli of being arbitrary in running both the party and the government.

Khanal lambasted PM Oli for being the “creator” of factionalism in the party.

“We were in trouble because of his arrogance,” Khanal said while addressing a national conclave organized by the disgruntled faction led by Madhav Kumar Nepal and Jhalanath Khanal in Sanepa Wednesday.

UML senior leader Khanal also criticized PM Oli for protecting corrupt people in the party.

He made it a point to say that PM Oli remained adamant about his stance of not listening to dissent voices. “The appointments in constitutional bodies, National Planning Commission, among others, is a glaring example,” an aggressive Khanal said.

Former Prime Minister Khanal also accused Prime Minister Oli for bringing controversial bills without consulting in the party.

The faction is holding a two-day national conclave in Sanepa from today.

It had decided to hold the gathering against what they said “KP Oli’s arbitrary” attitude in running the party.

Likewise, the central committee of the faction is scheduled to submit a concept paper on the current interparty dispute and its possible ways out in the gathering.
