Election Commission calls all-party meeting

KATHMANDU: The Election Commission is holding an all-party meeting on Sunday.

The commission has invited party representatives to its office in Kantipath for discussions.

Raj Kumar Shrestha, Spokesperson at the Commission informed that the all-party meeting will discuss the issue of the upcoming election, voter list, polling stations, and polling booths.

The commission called both factions of the Nepal Communist Party (NCP), Nepali Congress, Janata Samajwadi Party, Rastriya Prajatantra Party, Rastriya Janamorcha, Nepal, Mazdoor Kisan Party, Bibeksheel Sajha Party, NCP (ML), Nepal Federal Socialist Party, Rastriya Mukti Party, Nepali Janata Dal, Federal Democratic National Forum, Bahujan Shakti Party and Nepal Pariwar Dal.

Each party has been asked to send two representatives each for the discussion.

On the recommendation of Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, President Bidya Devi Bhandari had dissolved the House of Representatives on December 20 and announced mid-term elections.
