42 percent population gets COVID-19 shots in Sudurpaschim

SUDURPASCHIM: Forty-two percent of the targeted population has been so far vaccinated against COVID-19 in Sudurpaschim province. Seven hundred fifty-one thousand 811 people have been given the full dose vaccines.

Similarly, 55 percent of the targeted age group or 906 thousand 174 people have already been given the first dose. People above 18 years of age have been included in the target groups. The population of this age group people is nearly 1.9 million in the province.

A spokesperson at the Ministry of Social Development, Provincial Government, Narendra Singh Karki said the vaccination program is moving ahead smoothly as the province has an adequate supply of vaccines.

He added that preparations are also being made to administer the Moderna and Pfizer company-manufactured vaccines to children of the 12 to 17 years age group in the province.
