Government to prorogue parliament session

KATHMANDU: The government has recommended ending the ongoing parliamentary session with effect from Monday midnight.

A meeting of the cabinet held Monday morning has recommended to the President to prorogue the parliamentary session with effect from Monday.

Even though the House of Representatives was reinstated for the second time, the government failed to give enough business to the parliament.

Lawmakers have complained that the House of Representatives has become ineffective due to lack of business.

A source said that the government is preparing to bring some ordinances after concluding the parliamentary session.
