JSP’s Mahanta Thakur calls PP meeting



KATHMANDU: Mahantha Thakur, Chairman of the Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP), has called a Parliamentary Party meeting Friday.

The meeting will discuss and make the party’s position clear on the Supreme Court’s order to reinstate the House of Representatives, and the Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba-led government.

Likewise, the faction has also called a meeting of the Executive Committee today.

The Thakur-led faction of the party is yet to make its stance clear on the formation of the new government.

JSP’s Thakur faction has a majority in the House of Representatives. Out of 32 lawmakers of the party, 20 are in favor of Thakur.

Rajendra Mahato has been elected the leader of the parliamentary party with the signature of the majority lawmakers.
