KATHMANDU: The Nepal Army (NA) has started carrying out rescue operations with the help of a helicopter in the flood-hit Melamchi area of Sindhupalchowk district.

The rescue team rescued two people stranded on the roof-top of a hotel building in Melamchi bazaar with the helicopter.

They had fled to the top of the hotel after the lower floors of the building were submerged by the floodwater.

The NA rescued them from the roof-top of the hotel building.

There have been different versions on the details of the missing in the Melamchi floods.
