Multiple shots at Fedex Facility in Indiana, eight people dead

INDIANAPOLIS: Eight people were shot at a Fedex facility in Indianapolis, U.S. state of Indiana late Thursday, and the suspected gunman killed himself.

Police observed an active shooting scene at the facility, Indianapolis police spokesperson Genae Cook said.

The gunman has died and the public is not believed to be in immediate danger, AP reported.

Fedex soon released a statement saying it is cooperating with authorities, it added.

“We are aware of the tragic shooting at our FedEx Ground facility near the Indianapolis airport. Safety is our top priority, and our thoughts are with all those who are affected,” the statement said.

A witness working at the facility said that he saw a man with a gun after hearing several gunshots, according to AP.
