POKHARA: Senior leader of the Nepali Congress, Ram Chandra Poudel, has said that the responsibility to save the country has come upon the shoulder of the Nepali Congress as the country has now been held hostage of indecisions.

At a program organized to present the Purna Prasad –Maya Peace Journalism Award instituted by Nepal Press Union, leader Poudel shared that silence of NC President Sher Bahadur Deuba in the current situation is mysterious and added that NC has a significant role in Nepali politics.

He opined, “We may have less number of parliamentarians, but our role is significant. We should give an outlet to the country.”

The NC senior leader added that he can only give suggestions as he is not in a decisive role. He, however, claimed that NC is the only party running the country in the right way.

On the occasion, Poudel presented the award carrying a purse of Rs 25,000 to journalist Himnidhi Laudari. Laudari is active in the journalism sector for the past three decades.

He is now associated with Radio Taranga and Himdoot Daily.

Chairperson of Purna Prasad-Maya Baral Foundation, Bhola Baral, said that the award was established with the objective of presenting the award to a journalist covering the religion, culture, and peace beat.
