President Bhandari holding all-party meet at 4 pm today

KATHMANDU: In what has been speculated as a move to give way out to the current political stalemate, President Bidya Devi Bhandari is holding an all-party meeting at 4 pm today.

President Bhandari has called a meeting of all parliamentary parties at the President’s Office, in Shital Niwas to discuss the current political turmoil dogging the country.

Tuesday’s meeting has been called amid political uncertainties in the country.

According to Dr Bhesharaj Adhikari, Personal Secretary to the President, parties including the ruling CPN-UML, Nepali Congress, CPN (Maoist Center), Janata Samajwadi Party, RPP, Nepal Majdoor Kisan Party and Rastriya Janamorcha have been invited to the meeting.

She has also invited former Prime Ministers to attend the meeting.

The country is currently in a political crisis after the March 7 verdict of the Supreme Court (SC).

The SC had revoked the erstwhile ruling Nepal Communist Party and declared the unification between the erstwhile CPN-UML and CPN Maoist Centre void.

The meeting has been viewed with importance at a time when the political parties have intensified political meetings on power sharing.
