High time parties launched a joint agitation against government: Prachanda

CHITWAN: Chairman of the Dahal-Nepal faction of Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Pushpa Kamal Dahal “Prachanda” has asserted that the political parties will soon go for a joint agitation against the dissolution of the parliament.

Speaking to journalists in Chitwan Tuesday, Prachanda said he has already held discussions with Nepali Congress (NC) President Sher Bahadur Deuba and leaders of the Janata Samajwadi Party in this regard.

“In fact, agitation against Prime Minister KP Oli’s unconstitutional move has continued,” he said, adding, “However, I firmly believe that the agitation would be more effective if all political parties came together.”

Stating that he has already held a discussion with NC President Deuba for a joint agitation, Prachanda said it is high time that the parties came together for a joint agitation.

Reiterating his stance that the dissolution of the House was unconstitutional, he emphasized a joint agitation to bring the country’s Constitution on the right track.

“Holding election at this time would be unconstitutional and undemocratic,” he said adding that the House of Representatives would be reinstated soon.
