Five Bangladeshi nationals arrested from Tribhuvan International Airport



KATHMANDU: Five Bangladeshi nationals have been arrested for smuggling 311 grams of gold-like yellow metal, chain roll, ring, and bangles from Tribhuvan International Airport.’

According to TIA sources, the arrestees are 30-year-old Tauhidul Tanvir, MD Yunus Ali, 50-year-old Sovan Talukdar, 25-year-old Jahidul Islam, and 37-year-old MD Mirazul Islam.

The police recovered 216 grams of yellow metal from Tauhidul, 233 grams from Yunus, 100 grams from Sovan, 332 grams from Jahildul, and 430 grams from Mirajul.

The Bangladeshi nationals were arrested after the gold-like metal was found while checking the handbag at the TIA. They were on the way to Bangladesh from Dubai via Kathmandu on Himalayan Airlines.

“They have been sent to the Tribhuvan Airport Customs Office Wednesday for necessary investigation and action,” TIA Airport Security Office informed.
