UML Chair Oli compares incumbent govt to scarecrow

Says Madhav Nepal is anti-UML, anti-people criminal

KATHMANDU: CPN-UML Chairperson KP Oli has compared the incumbent government with a scarecrow.

Addressing a gathering of CPN-UML cadres organized by Rupendehi in Butwal Wednesday, Oli said the government was not able to do as much as a scarecrow. “A scarecrow at least scares animals coming to eat crops in fields, but this government has not been able to that much,” Oli said.

He accused that the government could not tolerate development work. He said that the current government was nervous by the work done by the then government under his leadership.

“This government cannot tolerate development work. It has rejected appointments recommended by us and has placed incompetent people in those posts,” Oli said, adding, “It scrapped all projects of the previous government in roads, health and other infrastructure.”

“Compare our government with this government: We moved development projects forward at a rapid pace whereas this government has not been able to even expand its cabinet for two months.” He was of the view that this government was not able to fulfil people’s aspirations.

Meanwhile, the UML Chair accused CPN-Unified Socialist Chairman Madhav Kumar Nepal of being an anti-people criminal. “Madhav Nepal is not a comrade. He destroyed our party. I hear others say Madhav Comrade but in fact, he is anti-UML, anti-people criminal.”

He said Nepal was such a character who always toppled his party’s government.
