KATHMANDU: CPN-UML Vice Chairman Dr. Bhim Bahadur Rawal and General Secretary Ishwor Pokhrel held discussions on strengthening the party’s internal unity at the latter’s residence in Dhapasi on Sunday.
The two leaders agreed on expanding dialogue with leaders of the rival factions to keep the UML united on the basis of the 10-point deal struck on July 11.
According to UML general secretary’s press coordinator Ganesh Pandey, Pokhrel has been holding dialogue with disgruntled leaders in the party.
The UML has been divided over issues such as the dissolution of the House of Representatives (HoR), the Supreme Court’s decision to reinstate the HoR and support for the new government.
Though senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal warned of registering a new party if UML Chairman KP Oli did not show flexibility, several leaders of the Nepal faction are against splitting the party.
