RPP calls for bringing Nepalis in war-torn Afghanistan back home safely



KATHMANDU: The Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) has demanded the government to make arrangements to bring Nepalis, who are currently in Afghanistan, back home safely.

Issuing a press statement Sunday, RPP Chairmen Pashupati Shumsher Rana, Dr. Prakash Chandra Lohani and Kamal Thapa said, “The rise of Taliban insurgency posed a grave threat of a deadly civil war breaking out in Afghanistan. In such a situation, the RPP is concerned about Nepalis in Afghanistan. The RPP demands that the government ensure safety of Nepalis there and take initiates to bring them back home safely.”

Likewise, the RPP, expressing solidarity with former Nepali Gurkha soldiers in United Kingdom, also urged the UK government to address the demands of the soldiers and end discrimination against them. It also drew attention of the government to initiate diplomatic efforts to resolve the grievances of the  ex-Gurkha soldiers.
