UML furious at Gandaki govt’s change in budget priorities

POKHARA: CPN-UML has drawn the attention of the Gandaki Chief Minister saying alleging that the government has cut the budget of important projects and distributed it in the trifle schemes.

Handing a letter to Chief Minister Krishna Chandra Nepali Pokhrel on Sunday, UML’s Parliamentary Party in Gandaki expressed its concern over CM Pokhrel led government’s change in budget priorities in the fiscal year 2021/22.

“Failure to include budget even in the tendered projects is totally biased,” the letter said, claiming, “The previous government had given priority to the planned development projects aimed at achieving the goals of sustainable development ensuring each programs connecting to the first five-year plan of the government.”

UML has demanded to continue the budget in the areas of physical infrastructure, drinking water, energy, land management, industry, urban development, health, sports and others as envisioned by former CM Prithvi Subba Gurung.

A team of delegates including former CM Gurung visited CM Pokhrel’s office to hand over their letter on Sunday.
