DOLPA: Most of the schools in Upper Dolpa have been operating continuously since Baisakh even though educational institutions remain closed across the country.

Most of the schools in Dolpobuddha, Charkatangsong and She-Phoksundo villages of Upper Dolpa have started teaching and learning activities from the start of the new academic year.

The new academic session starts in the month of Fagun in Upper Dolpa. According to local Pema Gurung, all the schools in Dolpobuddha have started operating as usual since Baisakh.

According to him, schools in Upper Dolpa were not closed even during last year’s first wave of Corona Virus pandemic.

Last year, the exams were held on time. There are six schools in Dolpobuddha. Some schools in Charkatangsong and She-Phoksundo are also operating.

Spokesperson of Dolpobuddha rural municipality Kyalpo Thapa Bhote said that status of corona infection was normal and did not have much effect.

There are two academic sessions in Dolpa. Upper Dolpa has been established as an area with less contact with people from outside.

People say that there is no problem with COVID-19 infection as the border point with neighboring China remains closed too.
