SAPTARI: The Khando River Management Project in Rajbiraj has announced that it would not be able to control the river floods and inundation in the wake of monsoon.
The project informed it citing the reason that no budget was allocated this year for the emergency control of the river.
Project chief Rewakant Yadav said the local level was written about project’s inability to contain flooded river. He urged the local levels and other stakeholders again to extend budgetary support from the sides to continue emergency flood control.
The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has repeatedly said that country this year records more rainfall and for longer time. The project therefore has alerted everyone over the imminent water-induced disasters.
The Khando River flowed to Tilathi Koiladi Rural Municipality via Rupani along the East-West Highway inundates Rupani, Basbitti, Rajbiraj, Tilathi, Launiya, Sakarpura, Koiladi and other villages every year during monsoon.
