Nepal’s COVID-19 death toll reaches 4,856 with 187 new fatalities



KATHMANDU: As many as 187 COVID-19 patients have reportedly succumbed to the coronavirus pandemic in the last 24 hours.

According to the Ministry of Health and Population, the new deaths have taken the country’s death toll to 4,856 as of Saturday afternoon.

Meanwhile, Nepal recorded a total of 8,167 new cases of coronavirus infection in the past 24 hours taking the total coronavirus cases in the country to 4,47,704 as of Saturday afternoon.

According to the Ministry, 2,146 persons in Kathmandu, 444 in Lalitpur, and 347 in Bhaktapur have tested positive for the pandemic virus, making the capital valley’s fresh coronavirus cases 2,937 in past 24 hours.

In the meantime, 5,445 people have recovered from coronavirus making the number of recovered cases 3,33,108.

According to the Ministry sources, the recovery rate is 74.4%.
