Health Ministry urges not to attend schools in COVID-19 affected districts, including Kathmandu

KATHMANDU: The Ministry of Health and Population has urged the public to refrain from making crowds in public places, including all educational institutions.

The ministry has appealed one and all for immediate closure of all congested areas and services in the worst-affected districts, as no decision for closure has been taken so far.

The Ministry of Health has categorized 14 districts as the most-affected districts of coronavirus infection and has requested to close schools in these districts.

The ministry has classified Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, Lalitpur, Kaski, Rupandehi, Chitwan, Banke, Parsa, Kailali, Morang, Dang, Surkhet, Bara, and Baglung as the most affected districts.

Despite the rapid rise in coronavirus infection, the ministry has instructed all hospitals to operate fever clinics and collect samples for coronavirus testing.

Although the ministry has not yet made a decision on the service closure, it has requested the concerned to close schools in those districts due to the risk of infection.

Similarly, the ministry has also requested not to close all night business, restaurants, and clubs after 7 pm. Likewise, it has also urged to stop all activities such as sports, gym, public worship and processions, conferences, and meetings.

Similarly, the ministry has requested not to operate cinema halls, shopping malls, dance halls, party palaces, health clubs, swimming pools, and other places and also requested the public not to participate in these areas.
