Stones pelted at CPN-UML lawmaker’s residence at midnight

KATHMANDU: CPN-UML Jhapat Rawal Thursday revealed that he was under attack at his home Wednesday night.

At a meeting of parliamentary State Affairs and Good Governance Committee held Thursday, he drew the attention of Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa ‘Badal’ towards delayed response of security agencies at midnight.

“At around midnight on Wednesday, plenty of stones were thrown at my home at an interval of 5-10 minutes. When I called police helpline 100, nobody attended my call,” lawmaker Rawal said at the meeting.

As per Rawal, he called several police stations for help, but in vain. Nevertheless, security personnel from Hanuman Dhoka finally reached Rawal’s residence 45 minutes after the incident took place.
